This was part of a proposal for a Maine Percent for Art project. The idea was for a river of stone flowing between large granite megaliths. The project never got off the ground, but we’re hoping to build this or something similar sometime down the road.
We’re in the middle of an interesting project on Chebeauge Island. Our friend, Martin Knapp, is installing a communications tower for the Island, and we’re pouring the cement base and pillars. This project is engineered to withstand extreme winds and weather, so there is a ton on steel and concrete. The logistics of island work is always a challenge. During this cold spell, the ferry has been running 24/7 to keep it’s narrow path from completely freezing.
