We’re in the middle of an interesting project on Chebeauge Island. Our friend, Martin Knapp, is installing a communications tower for the Island, and we’re pouring the cement base and pillars. This project is engineered to withstand extreme winds and weather, so there is a ton on steel and concrete. The logistics of island work is always a challenge. During this cold spell, the ferry has been running 24/7 to keep it’s narrow path from completely freezing.
This ongoing project in South Bristol started in August. We can’t wait until the snow melts so we can wrap things up this spring. Working with the homeowners and their contractor, Chris Leeman Building/Maine Home Networking, this project includes stone walls, granite steps, a stone patio, and stone walkways, on a beautiful piece of the Maine coast.
